Forbion

Investment process

Forbion will make initial investments ranging from EUR 3 million to EUR 10 million, and reserves additional capital for follow-on investments. We prefer to invest in international syndicates with other dedicated Life Sciences investors that share our commitment to the business. This approach ensures the necessary funding for R&D and minimises the refinancing risk.

In Europe, we will likely take on the lead investor role and play an active part in assisting company growth. In the US, Forbion is more likely to be a co-lead investor or active syndicate member.

As well as meeting the investment criteria, we thoroughly assess the managers/founders, ensuring the appropriate skill sets are in place within the management team.

We also evaluate the business model and explore the rationale behind the business plan, usually involving outside consultants and industry experts to facilitate this. Concurrently, Forbion will conduct both patent and technical due diligence.

With technical due diligence in place, we will discuss investment terms and assuming agreement is met, we co-ordinate the preparation of definitive legal documents, the finalisation of the due diligence and the formation of a suitable investment syndicate.

If Forbion becomes an investor in your Company we will most likely take a seat on the Board of Directors.
